Pfeifen Huber
The objective was to re-design the current e-commerce shop to bring the essence and quailty of their central Munich store to the web.
Using shopware as the base, the objective was to redesign the e-commerceshop of an established family business from central Munich. In order to maintain the long standing client trust and relationships, the focus was on bringing the environment and shopping experience from the brick-and-mortar store to the web.I paid close attention to the color palette of the physical shop and translatedthe new design to represent the warmth but upgrade this to a more modernshopping experience per the client’s wishes. As with all projects I started by researching the industry, user data, and comparable brands. Then along with e-commerce best practices, I created two options for the direction the design can take for the client; after feedback and adjustments we had created the draft design style, and I set out to layout the wireframes.Throughout the design, it was important to me to incorporate more visuals to enhance the shopping experience. I also created a system of icons to improve the decision making process of customers and continue the shopping experience improvement. In the end we also improved the design by adding additional shopping elements such as a ‘product of the month’, ‘recently viewed’ and ‘recommended products’ sliders.
Established in 1863, Pfeifen Huber is a family run traditional tobacco shop, specializing in pipes. Although they
already have an online presence, the objective was to re-design the current e-commerce shop to bring the essence
and quailty of their central Munich store to the web. A focus on connection to the customer and the shopping experience
were primary drivers in the design.
